It is well-known for its water fights, which represent wiping out the bad luck of the previous year and starting over fresh in the new year. Individuals engage in vibrant street gatherings, utilize water cannons, and squirt each other with water. Spending time with family, visiting temples, and earning merit are also part of Songkran.
