I walked through torrential rain from King's Road to Albert Bridge in Chelsea, one of London’s “poshest” neighbourhoods, at night time. This was my favourite heavy rain walk to date and it felt magical to be on Albert's Bridge during a sudden onslought of torrential rain! Moments like this are extremely rare in Chelsea. My umbrella was overwhelmed by the amount of water & even my face & hair got wet under the umbrella! The gimbal malfunctioned due to the amount of water but thankfully recovered!! London doesn't rain as often as commonly thought. Moments like this are extremely few & far between. The rain in London usually starts & stops after 1 minute. The reason London gets its "rainy" reputation is because the ground is often wet but it is as a result of only 30 seconds of rain almost every day. Many people in London do not bother with umbrellas because one need only stand in a shop entrance to wait a minute for the rain to stop. I'm thankful I managed to capture the ambience with binaural microphones in stereo including everything around for an immersive experience. In this video, you can hear the background noises as well as the rain on the umbrella, trees & pavements. My apologies for the times I had to wipe the camera lens- particularly after the Albert Bridge downpour, the lens got quite wet! I hope it helps you to relax as if you're actually there.
