Sounds of Sudan features music from various parts and periods of Sudan in new arrangements for string quartet and oud. While the oud is one of the most important traditional instruments in Sudanese music the combination with a string quartet is unusual. The idea was to preserve the identity of the original Sudanese pieces while adding colour, textures and occasional harmony from the Western classical tradition. So, here we are with music from Sudan that is unique, vibrant and beautiful!
