Doch anhaltende Lieferverzögerungen sorgten dafür, dass der längste Airbus A340 auch heute noch im Einsatz ist. Bereits mehrfach wurde die Ausflottung verschoben. Zum Zeitpunkt des Fluges, hieß es, dass im Januar 2026 der Betrieb eingestellt werden soll. Zwischenzeitlich sind die A340-600 auch für den Sommerflugplan 2026 geplant. Aktuell betreibt die Lufthansa noch sechs Flugzeuge dieses Typs. Im August ging es für mich mit dem Airbus A340-600 über das Wochenende nach Riad. Auf diesem Flug hatte ich eine überaus tolle Besatzung, mit der ich auch zwei Tage später zurück flog. During the pandemic, it looked as though the A340-600 would no longer fly. However, ongoing delivery delays meant that the longest Airbus A340 is still in service today. Its decommissioning has already been postponed several times. At the time of the flight, it was said that operations would be discontinued in January 2026. In the meantime, the A340-600 is also planned for the 2026 summer schedule. Lufthansa currently operates six aircraft of this type. In August, I flew to Riyadh for the weekend on the Airbus A340-600. I had a fantastic crew and I flew two days later with the same crew back to Frankfurt.
