Banh cuon is one of those dishes that instantly transports me back to my childhood. Some of my favorite memories involve going to Thanh Son Deli with my parents, eagerly watching as the delicate rice sheets were expertly steamed, filled, and folded right before my eyes. There was something so comforting about bringing a tray of these silky, savory rolls home, gathering around the table with my family, and dipping each bite into nuoc cham. The balance of textures and flavors was pure magic—soft rice sheets, savory pork filling, fragrant herbs, and a tangy-sweet dipping sauce. To this day, banh cuon remains one of my favorite Vietnamese comfort foods, a dish that speaks to home and heritage with every bite. Banh cuon is a traditional Vietnamese dish made of thin, steamed rice sheets that are soft, delicate, and slightly elastic. These rice sheets are carefully folded around a savory filling of seasoned ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, creating a flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The rolls are typically served with cha lua (Vietnamese pork sausage), crispy fried shallots, fresh herbs, and a generous side of nuoc cham, a sweet, tangy, and umami-rich dipping sauce made from fish sauce, lime, sugar, and garlic. 🔔 Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more delicious recipes!
