INDUCTION WORKSHOP OF THE NEWLY ELECTED REGIONAL AND LOCAL COUNCILLORS RUNDU

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development launched the Induction Workshop of elected Regional and Local Authority Councillors. Speaking during the official opening was James Sankwasa, the Minister of Urban and Rural Development. The aim of the induction is to lay a strong foundation to be able to run the councils effectively and efficiently right from the start. The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development has a collective responsibility of initiating and implementing policies and programmes that promote the welfare and enrich the lives of the people, especially those at the grassroots level. The MICT team spoke to the Minister and some participants. The participants included newly elected Regional and Local Authorities, Regional Councillors, Chief Regional Officers, Chief Executive Officers, and Administrators.
