Should I contact the Hiring Manager on LinkedIn?

The answer is Yes! You should definitely contact the Hiring Manager on LinkedIn. Many LinkedIn jobs offer this feature: on the LinkedIn Job, you can see the name and profile of the person who posted the job. In most cases, that person is the Hiring Manager for the role. Or at least the HR Manager who does the first interview and has a relationship with the Hiring Manager. So I recommend to people interested in that role, to contact this person on LinkedIn directly. By sending them an inmail through LinkedIn with your resume attached. This way, as a job seekers, you are highlighting your candidacy. It shows initiative too. Your are distinguishing yourself from other job seekers. Hiring Managers and HR Managers would appreciate your reach out. This will definitely increase your chances of getting an interview. In the best case, you will get the interview for the role you desperately want. In the middle case scenario, you will network with a high-level individual in the same specialty as you. In the worst-case scenario, if they do not think you are a fit, they will at least tell you why and you will learn what to improve on in your skills or your resume. At least you will get an update. Your resume will not be one of 100 applicants that applied and never heard anything back.
