In search of new wonder materials 🔗 | Quick Question featuring the Cluster of Excellence @ctqmat

The Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat – Complexity and Topology in Quantum Matter has been jointly run by Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg and TU Dresden since 2019. More than 300 researchers from more than 30 countries are researching topological quantum materials that reveal surprising phenomena under extreme conditions such as ultra-low temperatures, high pressure or strong magnetic fields. Two of the researchers are Prof. Elena Hassinger and Prof. Alexey Chernikov. Prof. Elena Hassinger and her team are investigating materials that are superconducting at very low temperatures. Prof. Alexey Chernikov and his research group at ct.qmat are investigating nanomaterials and their interactions with light or elementary particles. The materials and their special properties that the researchers are investigating could be used in the future to develop components for quantum computers.
