Cook Creek is a somewhat of a "local knowledge" riding zone on Vancouver Island, and 559 is the newest addition: a new-school freeride trail with absolutely TONS of wooden features and drops. The biggest drop on the trail also happens to be the most technical, and taking the wrong line off it could have serious consequences. But it's not only the wooden drops that make 559 epic to ride - the fast sections combined with the flowy berms and jumps lower down make it one you'll want to lap over and over again. **edit - I also learned that the day this trail opened, a rider did crash on this drop in exactly the manner we discuss in the video, and needed to be airlifted from the scene. It is vitally important to scope out features like this before you commit to riding them.
