Thanks for watching! This "movie" was a hard one to put together. For me, it’s very sad to see the true end of these old D40LFs come around. The 2005s may not be in Mississauga, but they had a second life and that's a great opportunity I'm glad I was able to take advantage of. These buses for sure won't be forgotten, at least by me and other transit fans alike. I remember when I was younger and rode this exact bus for the first time, and that was the best ride I've ever had onboard a D40LF, and they quickly became a fan favourite of mine. Keep in mind, over the years I've struggled with depression and some family issues, but as a famous YouTuber said, "after riding one of these, they always brought a smile back on my face". I completely agree with this. Getting to ride many, many, different units, both part of the 2003 and 2005 series, they always put smiles on my face, and I'm glad I was able to have those memories. I still look back fondly, even many years later. Here is a small compilation of some of my last video clips and photographs of Mississauga Transit 2005 New Flyer D40LF #0556, which was known as Durham Region Transit #1008. This particular unit was the first D40LF from MiWay I rode, so hearing that it got a second life; being purchased by Mississauga Bus Group of Companies in 2023, then eventually being sent to Durham Region Transit in 2024 and then bought outright by DRT just before my 16th birthday, I knew I'd have to see it one last time, and on April 27th, 2025, that was my chance, and I got lucky. This entire movie compilation features photos, outside clips, ride videos, clips of the axles roaring from the outside (which I'm famous for on these buses), and audio clips, all compiled into one giant movie-like compilation. This bus is powered by a Cummins 8.9L 16 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, rated at 280HP and with EPA2004 certification, hooked up to a Voith DIWA.3E (D864.3E) 4 speed automatic transmission with a footbrake activated retarder, riding on M.A.N HO7 Planetary axles. Enjoy this final compilation! Please note I'll be going back soon to catch the final unit in service, unit #0531 / #1012 soon.
