Eventually, he asks her to come away with him, and she does. They have many adventures (such as facing the weeping angels). After a while they come to a city, and to save it The Doctor must jump off a tower, but before he can stop her, Buffy jumps instead and dies. He is torn, and finally leaves, just as she (brought back to life like in btvs) climbs out of the ground. But she is too late and watches in horror as the TARDIS disappears. Her friends and Dawn are happy to see her again (wondering why she left them in the first place), but Willow realizes how upset Buffy is and gets Tara to help her with a spell to summon the TARDIS back. When it comes, Willow tells The Doctor that Buffy is still alive. The Doctor, surprised, goes and finds Buffy, who tells Dawn she is leaving with him again. After she leaves, Dawn is broken from losing her sister again.
