Since its inception, NATO has been a tool that has been wielded by the US to contain revolutionary movements wherever they fought for their rights. Its expansion and expanding militarization as a whole have facilitated the rise of far right movements and political parties that are dangerously gaining influence and power in many countries. Today, fear mongering tactics are used by different European statespeople in order to encourage military spending. The result of this increased military spending is the inevitable implementation of austerity measures, leading to budget cuts in social welfare and other areas which negatively affect the working class in Europe and around the world. NATO as a tool used by the US is one of the primary causes of suffering for people around the world. We need an internationalist, grassroots movement led by the people, an anti-war movement that will advocate genuine change​​​​​​​!
