I was punching at this brick wall for about 70 resets. I couldn't quite solve it. Even with MBarrier, there didn't seem to be a way to get enough turns. Wiegraf isn't an issue. You can MBarrier to beat his turn out and Blood Suck him 3 times which will make him leave. However, it is important to refresh MBarrier before that. Velius is a monster. Not just literally; he is coded to be Monster gender. This means that, unlike Queklain, his MP is low relative to his HP. Velius rolls around 980-1000 HP, while his MP sits in the 260-270ish range. That means you have to land four hits, and Velius can kill without a second thought with Clops at any moment thanks to Valmafra having very low HP with no way to boost it. But what if he couldn't cast? Irrelevant up to this point, Valmafra can equip knives. It's her only choice of weapon. And it just so happens that the Final Fantasy classic, the Mage Masher, can inflict Silence. Velius, in spite of being among the most terrifying bosses in this game, can be Silenced. And thus, our path to victory is open. We have enough HP that Velius will go for Loss. And, in an ideal situation, the Demons have bad damage, too. However, by some stroke of luck, I ended up in a nasty situation. The demons should've had me, but Velius, eager to take SOME action, goes for Loss again. And, with enough favorable random actions, I can get back on the track to winning. There is a big mystery as to why Velius doesn't just knock my teeth out, considering I had single digit HP. There must be some stacking of AI routines that just makes him quit life. I'd like to figure it out, one day.
