Here is a very interesting portrait of the composer Olivier Messiaen. He was a great musician and a christian-catholic mysticus ! He listened to the birds and used their songs in his music. He recognized the Divine everywhere in nature! He also knew the other religions and their origins qua mythologies and their music . He was absolutely unique as a mystical composer, full of Joy and Gratitude towards the Divine Source ! After the portrait you can listen to the last very moving Act from his only opera Saint Francois d'Assise with David Wilson-Johnson as Francois and Maria Oran as the Angel. The opera is conducted by Kent Nagano
