Several sizes of wrenches were tested to determine overall best performing wrench set. Wrenches tested repeatedly revealed a huge durability issue for several brands. Are flare nut wrenches a scam? Almost all of the flare nut wrenches became bent during the review. My "opinion" is that manufacturers make "soft" wrenches to avoid warranty claims. Once bent, the wrench will cause damage (round off) a fastener very easily instead of loosening the fastener or nut. A properly hardened tool offers much more strength but is also much more likely to break, instead of just bending.
