I appreciate your interest as well as your feedback and will try to respond to your comments ASAP. Thanks again for watching. I have had a few whisky dreams. You know the ones where you dream you had that bottle that is so hard to get. Well this dream came true and I am going to have fun tonight enjoying whisky from one of my favorite distilleries, Bunnahabhain. This is a distillery that is considered the most remote on the Isle of Islay and pre-1960 it did not have a road to it. It was dependent on water freight. If you needed Barley to make the whisky it had to come in on the famous Puffer steam boats. In fact your fuel, food, hardware, tools, repair parts, you name it; no matter what you needed the Puffer was your life and blood especially an isolated distillery community like Bunnahabhain. A for those coming and going from the distillery you developed a fondness for these incredibly reliable and seaworthy craft. Today the era of the Puffer is a forgotten era even though through the last century they were essential in keeping the economies of these small communities going. They played a huge part in supplying the big war ships during World War 2. It was by accident or by luck that I had already done my research while in Scotland on the Puffer boat and the part they played in the Whisky industry. And what about Bunnahabhain distillery and their 18 year old whisky? I think you will be able to answer that when you watch the video. Take a seat, sit back and enjoy the video.
