The Best Motorcycle Roads in Wyoming (Western Swing Ep 6) 🏍️ 🏍️🏍️ 🏍️

We had a great day of riding in Wyoming, today. If variety is the spice of life, then today's ride would have us reaching for a glass of milk. We rode across plains, to the top of mountains, through the bottoms of canyons. We were surrounded by snow, rained on a little, and sweated under 29° sunshine. Very spicy. The day commenced with a beautiful, sunny, and bug free morning. Rolling over in bed and looking up at the Devils Tower is second in beauty only to waking next to Tiger Barb. We headed south from Devils Tower to I90 and took the slab all the way to Buffalo. Wyoming, not New York silly! I don't love riding on Interstate Highways but this portion was quiet nice, with very little traffic, and an 80mph (130 km/h) speed limit. As we approached Buffalo, we were teased by vistas of the snow capped Big Horn Mountains. The Bighorn Mountains are a 200 mi (320 km) long mountain range in northern Wyoming and southern Montana. The Big Horns connect the Rocky Mountains to the Great Plains. At Buffalo, we had a disappointing authentic Mexican lunch, in a sketchy motel just off the highway. We put that behind us when we joined US Hwy 16, and quickly climbed to the snowy Powder River Pass. Powder River Pass (el. 9,666 ft or 2,946 m) is the highest point on US 16. With the altitude, and the snow on both sides of the road, the temperature plummeted for 21° to 10°. Wisely we pulled over at the top to put on warmer gear. Then we dropped dramatically into the Ten Sleep Canyon, where the temperature was 21° and we stopped and took off our warm gear. Lol. We didn't care because it was so beautiful and it gave us an excuse to take more photos. The canyon was extraordinary, and I couldn't help singing Canyon Fever by Billy & The Devil. Lol, I felt like I was in a Tiger Coward YouTube video. Riding with sheer rock faces on both sides of the road is a sensation that we don't get in Central Ontario, and that is why we travel. The roads were amazing, the scenery was unbelievably beautiful, but today was also remarkable because we were reminded of the respect that American drivers show for motorcycles. Approaching curvy sections, cars pulled over to let us through. At 4-way stops, trucks waved all four of us through so that we could ride in a group, and going up hills RVs pulled over to let us pass. At home, we are just happy to be seen, let alone respected. We continued south and west and had our second canyon experience in the Wind River Canyon. We joined the Wind River Canyon Scenic By-way just north of the city of Thermopolis and enjoyed the amazing views all the way to Shoshoni. The road and the train tracks snake along on either side of the Wind River, which is enclosed by the 2,500 ft high canyon walls. Anyhow, the day was great day in Wyoming. Sensational all the way from Devils Tower to our final destination, Lander. I love you all.
