Connect via SSH and ensure you’re on Mainline Klipper:cd ~/klipper 2. git checkout master 3. Configure the build:cd ~/klipper 4. make menuconfig 5. Use the correct settings for the Eddy USB probe. 6. Press Q to exit and select "Yes" to save the configuration. 7. Compile the firmware:make 8. Disconnect power from the Eddy USB. 9. Enter Boot Mode:Hold the BOOT button (located near the USB port), then plug the USB cable into your BIGTREETECH Pi. 10. Check USB connection:lsusb 11. You should see a device ID like 2e8a:0003. 12. Flash the firmware:cd ~/klipper 13. make flash FLASH_DEVICE=2e8a:0003 (Replace 2e8a:0003 with your actual device ID ) 14. Get your serial connection:ls /dev/serial/by-id/* 15. Use this path in your printer.cfg under [mcu eddy]. 16. Reboot the system: sudo reboot 🔌 Drive Current Calibration 11. Mount the Eddy USB probe approx. 20mm above the bed. If you plan to use it as an endstop, move the gantry manually to this position. 12. Run the calibration command in your Klipper terminal: LDC_CALIBRATE_DRIVE_CURRENT CHIP=btt_eddy 13. Save the value: SAVE_CONFIG 📏 Mapping Eddy Readings to Nozzle Heights 14. Run: PROBE_EDDY_CURRENT_CALIBRATE_AUTO CHIP=btt_eddy 15. Follow the Klipper UI prompt:Lower the nozzle until it grips a piece of paper placed on the bed (classic paper test method). The paper should slide with some resistance. 16. Accept the prompt and let Eddy map height readings. When finished, run: SAVE_CONFIG 🛠 Bed Mesh Calibration 17. Perform Quad Gantry Leveling (if using Voron-style gantry). 18. Home all axes: G28 19. Start the mesh calibration: BED_MESH_CALIBRATE METHOD=rapid_scan 20. Save mesh: SAVE_CONFIG 🌡️ Temperature Compensation Calibration (Eddy USB Only) These steps are only for the USB version of Eddy. Skip if using Eddy Coil. 21. Move Z to 5mm above the bed: G0 Z5 22. Set idle timeout to avoid disconnects: SET_IDLE_TIMEOUT TIMEOUT=36000 23. Start the temperature calibration process: TEMPERATURE_PROBE_CALIBRATE PROBE=btt_eddy TARGET=56 STEP=4 24. When prompted, use the paper method to pinch the paper between the nozzle and the bed and click accept. 25. Turn on the heat bed to its maximum temp and set the nozzle to 220°C. 26. Eliminate breezes (e.g., turn off A/C, close windows) to ensure stable Eddy temperature readings. 27. Continue following the prompts. At each 4°C interval, repeat the paper pinch method as the system maps temperature drift. 28. When done, the probe will be fully compensated for thermal variance. 🧩 Affiliate Links – Trusted 3D Printing Gear Creality: http://shrsl.com/4sc04 Sovol: http://shrsl.com/4sc05 BigTreeTech: http://shrsl.com/4sc06 Elegoo: http://shrsl.com/4sc07 Eibos: http://shrsl.com/4sc09 💡 This video is sponsored by PCBWay – PCB, CNC & 3D Printing Services 🌐 Visit: www.pcbway.com 🎁 Sign Up: https://pcbway.com/g/23pb5f 📌 Search Tags & Keywords: #BTTeddy #EddyUSB #KlipperSV08 #SovolSV08Mods #MainlineKlipper #KlipperProbe #3DPrinterLeveling #ThePrintasaurus #EddyCalibration #EddyTempCompensation #KlipperMesh 🔔 Subscribe to The Printasaurus for more Klipper mods, upgrade guides, and deep-dive tutorials! 👍 Like if this helped 💬 Comment below if you're installing Eddy or running Klipper on the SV08!
