Here's my arrangement of Alien Manifestation from Nier: Automata, composed by Keiichi Okabe I was listening to the FFXIV soundtrack which includes music from Nier, and every time I heard one of the Nier tracks, I'd think "Man, this music is really good". So good, I decided to buy the game! (and Keiichi Okabe has joined the list of my favorite composers lol) Anyways, this track is from the opening sequence of the game and it really left an impression on me, so I decided I wanted to try replicating it to practice my orchestration and arranging skills. It's not nearly as good as the original IMO, but I learned a few more things about how to layer strings and other instruments from working on this, it was really fun to do! *Orchestration notes:* The organ is top notch, it really makes the piece and I think I did a good job replicating it. I worked extremely hard on the strings, but I just think SWAM strings can never sound as good as a real player (or maybe I'm just not good enough with it yet). The drums are ok, but I was super lazy with them, they're definitely my weak point as a composer. I hoped to get this track done in a few hours, but it ended up taking me a few days! (I should've seen that one coming) *VSTs used* As always, VSL is the core of my instruments, Synchron Brass, Pro Strings, Elite Strings, and Prime.
