Types of Sequence Variants - Duplications, Insertions, Deletions, and Indels

This video provides an overview of several types of sequence variants including duplications, deletions, insertions, and indels. A sequence variants is a change to a letter or a few letters within the DNA sequence. This video will focus on duplications, insertions, and deletions. DNA letters are read in groups of 3 to create amino acids. When multiples of 3 letters are added or removed to the DNA sequence, the variant is inframe. When it is not a multiple of 3, the variant is considered a frameshift variant.
