Air India Extends Flight Suspension To UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar Amid West Asia Tensions

Air India has extended suspension of flights to and from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar until 11.59 pm on the day of broadcast, due to rising tensions in West Asia. IndiGo has also extended its suspension and asked passengers to check its website for updates. Select European flights scheduled for the day have also been cancelled. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said its passenger assistance control room has resolved 411 complaints so far. Prime Minister Modi chaired a high security review meeting where the committee was briefed on the February 28 airstrike in Iran and attacks on Gulf nations. Concerns over the safety of Indians, including travellers and students, were discussed. The government revealed the potential economic implications and assured that all necessary assistance will be extended to affected Indian nationals.
