Protesters gathered outside tribal council STORYLINE Angry crowds gathered in the Jordanian capital, Amman on Tuesday evening after a video released online purportedly showed a Jordanian pilot captured by the Islamic State group in Syria being burned to death. The protesters chanted slogans in support of Lieutenant Muath al-Kaseasbeh outside a tribal meeting place where the pilot's relatives had waited for weeks for word on his fate. The Jordanian military has confirmed al-Kaseasbeh's death. Some protesters clashed with a man who called for unity with the Jordanian government and army. Jordan is a key ally in the US-led military coalition against the IS group, but the airstrikes against fellow Muslims are not popular in Jordan. Al-Kaseasbeh is the only pilot from the coalition to have been captured to date. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: (i) to check the terms of their licence agreements for use of content outside news programming and that further advice and assistance can be obtained from the AP Archive on: Tel +44 (0) 20 7482 7482 Email: [email protected] (ii) they should check with the applicable collecting society in their Territory regarding the clearance of any sound recording or performance included within the AP Television News service (iii) they have editorial responsibility for the use of all and any content included within the AP Television News service and for libel, privacy, compliance and third party rights applicable to their Territory.
