Also, he is a melodic rock/pop singer, leaving numerous solo works in the past few decades. He started music career in the late 1970s and spent several years in Germany working as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Upon his return to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s, he began building a reputation as a successful songwriter with his first major cut on the Top Gun soundtrack, and has continued to write songs and produce for other artists. Those who have performed songs from Mark Spiro's writing include various big names such as Julian Lennon, Anne Murray, Selena, Bad English, John Waite, Giant, REO Speedwagon, Mike Reno, Heart, Cheap Trick, Luis Miguel, Mr Big, Kansas, Camy Todorow and more, from different countries and of various genres. This song "The Valley Of Love" is selected from his solo album "In Stereo" released in 1986 as one of the co-writer with German songwriter Jack White, also this is a single included in his early EP Vinyl with another song "Nature Of The Beast". Slow ballad performed by his soulful voice does hit me in the heart. On 10th july, 2020, Mark Spiro released his superb record hit called "2+2 = 5: Best of + Rarities" including three discs with 37 songs in all.
