The Girdles are the appendicular areas of our bodies that run horizontally which provides us with the ability to move our limbs. Your shoulder girdle glides up and down along your spine and offers a wide range of movement to do every day movements like lifting, holding and carrying. The hip girdle (pelvic girdle) is where your legs attach into your torso that provides locomotion and balance. If your girdles are too tight and rigid, you will be prone to Osteoarthritis and have more limited mobility in your shoulder and hip joints.
