This is the official video of the track "The Journeyman" from the album "The Code" by Finbar The Journeyman is a track dedicated to the journey of life. I was inspired to write this track when I composed some music for George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) for his movie Shadownation. The movie is about the native people of the americas, and It was during this time I got to see the movie and learn about these amazing people. After delivering my music I travelled to New Mexico and Arizona learning more about their culture even staying on the Hopi nation reservation. Code Reveal 1 : The Rhythm GuitarsThe rhythm guitars on The Journeyman use a pingpong delay, where the delay level is as loud as the guitar part. The usage of heavily delayed guitar is designed to represent the energy we share with the universe, energy that reflects, with other peoples energy to create rhythmic patterns, rhythmic patterns that overlay on each other to create complex rhythmic structures. These sound on sound rhythms happen evolve organically and signify how our conduct can reflect not only what happens to us in life, but how our environment reflects our own energy. Code Reveal 2 : The Solo.The Solo on The Journeyman was created using my Fender John Cruz 61 Strat. I wanted to create a snakes and ladders type of feel, one that glides then builds. One where the melodic parts represent the smooth snake, and the arpeggiated forms represent the ladders, ladders that get the listener to a certain destination. This is a representation of the event structures in our lives, some smooth, some requiring strength and building.
