In this video, I take you through a journey that started from Italy and led me deep into Syria. After exploring Aleppo, I traveled south towards Idlib, which is often described as one of Syria’s most conservative towns. Life here feels very different, and in this video I try to capture the daily atmosphere, the traditions, and the mood of this unique place. From Idlib, I continued my route towards Homs, crossing regions that have seen some of the heaviest events of the last decade. Finally, I reached Palmyra, a city that was once one of the greatest jewels of the ancient world. Known as the “Bride of the Desert,” Palmyra was a major Silk Road hub and home to magnificent Roman temples, colonnades, and theaters that connected East and West. Sadly, Palmyra also became a battlefield during the Syrian conflict. When I$I$ occupied the city, they destroyed many priceless monuments, including the Temple of Bel and parts of the Arch of Triumph, shocking the entire world. Even today, the ruins carry both the beauty of history and the scars of destruction. This video is mainly focused on Idlib, but I wanted to show how my journey continued — from Aleppo to Idlib, then to Homs, and ending in Palmyra. Along the way, I share what I saw, the people I met, and how history, culture, and conflict all come together in this part of Syria.
