SUP Session 3 - River Chelmer

Our 3rd ever SUP session saw us head to a nearby Launch point on the River Chelmer (Details below). The route up to Paper Mill Lock was amazing but the water quality was awful so we didn't risk standing this time. Not only was there a load of general mess in the water but we ended up paddling past a dead swan, a dead fish, and a bag of dog mess. I would not recommend practicing standing or falling into this water in its current state. Ultimately we had a great time. The route was picturesque and the weather was great that day. We will probably return once a lot more confident in our paddling ability. The launch point on the "Go Paddling" App is under Church Road Bridge, Boreham. The parking is a dirt layby right next to the launch, which is merely a muddy bank next to the river, and can fit around 15 or so vehicles
