Jackson Audio currently has 4 pedals in their line up. 1) The Prism (preamp style pedal) 2) The Bloom (1176 style optical compressor) 3) Broken Arrow (TS circuit derived overdrive) 4) Belle Star (Drew Shirtley Signature OD) Many have asked what the main difference between the Belle Star and the Broken Arrow will be. IMO, the broken arrow, being derived from a tube-screamer style circuit, naturally has less natural "transparency" to it. That doesn't necessarily mean that its all mid bump all the time (but can definitely get there with the Green mode), but still has a certain type of compression to it that the Belle Star doesn't have. I would consider the Broken Arrow to be primarily an "amp in a box" STYLE of pedal, and it does it well! The Belle Star was designed to sound like a small tube amp turned up all the way, and I believe it does that sound relatively well. There is slightly more output at similar volume and gain settings on the Belle Star than there is on the Broken Arrow, but maintains the same small amp feel with the controls in just about any setting. GUITAR: PRS DGT AMP: Fender Deluxe Reverb REVERB: Strymon Big Sky FYI, the demo is pretty base level, no talking, and few blues licks! Mainly chords and a few riffs toward the end.
