In this video, we take you on an unforgettable journey through the skies, showcasing the stunning beauty of Coron from above. Our drone captures the essence of this tropical paradise, from its crystal-clear waters and pristine white-sand beaches to its majestic limestone cliffs and lush greenery. Why Coron, Palawan? Coron is one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the world, known for its rich marine life, WWII shipwrecks, and vibrant coral gardens. But there's so much more to this island than what's below the surface. Timestamps: 00:00 - Drone Aerial Footage Of Japanese Shipwreck site 06:28 - Drone Footage Of Twin Lagoon 09:39 - Drone Video Of Barracuda Lake What You’ll See: 🔸 Twin Lagoon - These twin bodies of water, separated by a narrow passage, are a sight to behold from the sky. Watch as our drone glides over the stunningly clear waters, revealing the contrasting shades of blue and green. Twin Lagoon gets its name from the fact that it consists of two separate lagoons connected by a narrow opening in the limestone cliffs. During high tide, the only way to move between the two lagoons is by swimming or kayaking through the underwater tunnel. At low tide, you can pass through the opening at the surface, but it’s still an exciting and memorable experience. Unique Features Crystal-Clear Waters: The lagoons are known for their incredibly clear, turquoise waters, which offer excellent visibility for swimming, snorkeling, and even just relaxing on a boat. The stunning contrast of the emerald waters against the dark, jagged limestone cliffs creates a picture-perfect scene that’s a favorite among photographers and travelers alike. Warm and Cool Water Mix: Like many of the lakes and lagoons in Coron, Twin Lagoon experiences a natural phenomenon called a thermocline, where layers of warm and cool water mix, creating an almost surreal swimming experience. As you move through the water, you can feel the temperatures change, adding to the uniqueness of the visit. Dramatic Limestone Cliffs: The Twin Lagoon is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs that add a sense of seclusion and grandeur to the location. The cliffs, which rise steeply from the water, are covered in lush vegetation, making the area feel like a hidden paradise. Snorkeling and Kayaking: While Twin Lagoon is primarily a place to enjoy swimming and relaxing in the water, it’s also an excellent spot for snorkeling. The clear waters allow you to see the underwater landscape and marine life. Kayaking is another popular activity, offering a serene way to explore both lagoons at your own pace. 🔸 Japanese Shipwrecks - While our drone captures the beauty above water, we pay homage to the historical shipwrecks lying beneath, remnants of WWII that are now coral-encrusted havens for marine life. 🔸 Barracuda Lake is one of the most unique and fascinating destinations in Coron, Palawan, known for its surreal underwater landscape and thermocline diving experience. The lake is named after the large barracuda that was once spotted by divers in its depths. Although sightings of barracudas are now rare, the name has stuck, adding a sense of mystery to the site. One of the most extraordinary features of Barracuda Lake is its thermocline, a phenomenon where the temperature of the water changes dramatically with depth. The lake has both freshwater and saltwater layers, and as you dive deeper, you’ll experience a significant increase in temperature—from around 28°C (82°F) at the surface to as high as 38°C (100°F) at deeper levels. This creates an almost otherworldly experience as you move through layers of warm and cool water. Barracuda Lake’s underwater terrain is unlike any other. The lakebed is made up of jagged limestone formations, giving it an alien-like landscape. The visibility in the lake is excellent, allowing divers and snorkelers to fully appreciate the surreal environment. The water is crystal clear, providing a clear view of the rock formations and the thermocline effect. Diving and Snorkeling: Barracuda Lake is a popular spot for both diving and snorkeling. For divers, the lake offers a unique experience due to the thermocline and the dramatic underwater topography. It’s not a typical dive site with abundant marine life; instead, the appeal lies in the unique physical characteristics of the water and the scenery below the surface. Snorkelers can enjoy the clear waters near the surface, although they won’t experience the thermocline as dramatically as divers.
