The State of Tennessee has come out with their new list of BEAD applicants based on the NTIA's new "Benefit of the Bargain" round. There are some interesting insights when you compare the original list with the new list. I delve into the data in this video. A few highlights: The state already had selected satellite service from Amazon Kuiper in most of their project areas, in many cases, as the sole applicant. They added Kuiper to some project areas that did not have satellite before in the new application round, and Starlink participated for the first time and was added to most locations that had Kuiper before. Comcast also had bid fiber everywhere in the initial round, and they changed their proposed technology to HFC (Cable Modem service) in the new round. Overall, the amount of funding that will be allocated dropped over $3.7 million. There are a few project areas that do not have any applicant including satellite. #beadprogram #Tennessee #satellitebroadband Link from Today: ~ Telecompetitor Article: https://www.telecompetitor.com/starli...
