Fleeing felon tries to hide from night vision police helicopter

NEW: JOIN ME ON PATREON:   / themobreporter   Winnipeg police’s helicopter locked eyes on a stolen SUV shortly after midnight on Aug. 2, 2018, and never let go. Police cruisers first tried to stop the SUV at McGregor St. and Dufferin Ave. but it sped away and ground officers backed off, leaving the force’s EC120 helicopter, designated AIR1, to track it. The stolen vehicle crashed through a guardrail at Hallet St. and Rover Ave. and rolled to a stop on an embankment. A man then fled one foot into the woods, trying to hide from the pursuing helicopter and approaching police cars. Officers easily found him cowering in the bushes. A 23-year-old man was arrested. The resolution and clarity of the technology is incredible.
