JOIN BROADCAST PLAZA TODAY, DISCORD'S MEDIA DISCUSSION COMMUNITY — http://bit.ly/S31MA Commercial breaks taken from the CBN Movie of the Week airing of "The Proud Rebel" on national cable network CBN, back when it was still called that. Today, this network is now known as "Freeform" and owned by Disney/ABC. At the time, and for most of this channel's existence through its various owners, it has programmed a "family-friendly" lineup, to the point that it renamed itself "The CBN Family Channel" in 1988 (shortened to "The Family Channel" in 1990 after CBN was forced to spin it off). This changed once Disney/ABC took the network over in 2001, and began to drift over time to its current focus of teens and young adults aged 14-34 (this kind of started under Fox ownership as well). As a result, the channel ditched the "Family" moniker officially from its name in 2016 in favor of the current moniker (so at least they owned up to their channel drift, which is more than most other cable networks). The channel in the current day airs a mix of original programming, movies, and Disney library programming such as "The Simpsons" and other ABC sitcoms. One holdover of the CBN ownership that continues under Disney/ABC are three daily airings of CBN's flagship show, "The 700 Club" and a once-daily airing of "The 700 Club Interactive" (the latter show is exclusive to Freeform) in a timebuy arrangement. However, the way it is structured is that it was a clause included in purchase agreements made over the years to subsequent owners that CBN has enforced, and refuses to exit unless they are paid an exorbitant amount of money, despite Disney's best efforts over the years to pay CBN off and cease airing the show.
