We examine the changes in society brought about by the disintegration of central government, briefly get acquainted with the samurai warlords (Sengoku Daimyo) duking it out for control of the archipelago, witness the arrival of European Jesuit missionaries, and take a look at the notable cultural advancements of the period -- some of which continue to define the aesthetic of Japanese culture to the present day.
