Medieval Hood

Whether referred to as a 'Gugel', 'Chaperon', 'Cappuccio', or a number of other things, this style hood was popular throughout Europe from roughly the 13th-15th centuries. A simple piece of garb which serves admirably to keep out the sun and wind, as well as the gaze of strangers you wish to remain anonymous from if you happen to be an outlaw... I free-handed this pattern using rough wool material and simple flax twine. I based my design from the few archaeological finds we have, as well as art from the time period.
