Designed as a place for the transmission of experience and knowledge, the Museum seeks to encourage research, practice, teaching and the organization of events related to the musical culture of the Aegean. It approaches the musical practices of the region from an anthropological perspective so that they remain what they have always been : a living and dynamic culture, a treasure trove of knowledge and practices built daily by passionate people, transmitted from generation to generation and transformed over time. The database offers the public a range of digital resources related to these musical practices and their performative context. It is regularly updated and currently includes more than 1,000 audiovisual recordings.
