A new short form series taking a comedic look at the "self-help" phenomenon. Pull Yourself Together is a modern-day comedy aimed at us “poor millennials” who are waiting (and struggling) for adulthood to finally kick in. Pull Yourself Together focuses on “poor excuse for an adult” Josie Harris. When her girlfriend dumps her to go and “find her happiness” (whatever), Jo is left broke, alone, and full of anxiety. Facing the realization that she is a 31-year-old working at a coffee shop run by a creepy boss, things are looking grim. At least she doesn’t live with her parents (yet?). Armed with nothing but an unused Bachelor of Arts degree, an empty bank account, and a bad attitude, Jo has hit rock bottom. That is, until she comes across the website of popular “Mindset Mentor” Marigold McKay. With Marigold’s assistance, some unlikely friends by her side, and the help of SEVERAL podcasts, books, organic smoothies, life coaches, and everything else the “personal development” industry has to offer, Jo vows to fix her life one piece of self-help advice at a time. Our web series takes a comedic approach to dissecting the current “Self-Help/Self-Improvement” phenomenon, challenging society’s unrealistic expectations of success, and exploring the idea of achieving one’s potential without sacrificing one’s “unconventional” qualities along the way. The series dives into what it means to be arbitrarily defined (“millennial”) in a world where opportunities leading to even a middle-class life are out of reach. With an openly queer creator, Pull Yourself Together will also provide positive on-screen representation for the LGBTQ2SIA+ audiences through our content.
