Tonight we drive one of Japan’s most legendary mountain roads. This is Usui Pass (碓氷峠), the famous winding road between Nagano and Gunma, known for its incredible 184 consecutive curves in just 11 km. The road became famous worldwide after appearing in the legendary street racing anime Initial D. It is known as the stage where Impact Blue (SilEighty) appears in the episode “Beyond the Impact Blue.” In this video, we drive the entire pass at night, starting with a downhill run through the endless corners, then turning around and climbing the same road back up. Sharp hairpins, tight corners, and the quiet atmosphere of the Japanese mountains at night create a unique driving experience. No talking. No music. Just the sound of the road and the rhythm of the curves. Experience Japan’s most famous winding mountain road from the driver’s perspective. ⸻ Chapters 00:00 Night drive begins – Usui Pass 08:00 C121 Corner 20:30 Hill Climb Start 32:20 C121 Corner (Return) ⸻ Location Usui Pass (碓氷峠) Nagano – Gunma, Japan ⸻ Road facts • Length: about 11 km • Total curves: 184 • Elevation change: about 500 m ⸻ If you enjoy POV driving in Japan, please subscribe for more scenic drives across the country. #JapanDrive #UsuiPass #InitialD #POVDrive #NightDriveJapan #JapanMountainRoad #ScenicDrive #DrivingJapan #JapaneseRoads #4KDrive
