Because it's been awhile since I played this, and I've been working for a good 100% SS in this game, I decided to do a route test. Since I'm doing that why not post it on Youtube since I haven't updated in awhile? Now anyone who cares can give tips on this, or enjoy an autoscrolling game being run with speed~ Beach - 2:45 -= 2:45 So yeah, the Beach, first level whoo. The first three pictures are required, and the first one is generally the best of them. Doduo is next, and pretty easy to get, although sometimes Oak likes to pretend it's not centered. I miss a Butterfree picture, but I generally have a spam picture for this level anyway, so I grab it second pass. I need to grab the first Lapras so I can get a better picture down the road. Meowth is always a good picture, and then I take a good picture of Lapras here. At the end I start tracking Eevee, but then remember to grab Kangaskhan first. There are a few ways I decided to skip on, normally my spam picture is an attempt to get a more risky Butterfree picture, and this Butterfree wasn't good. I didn't bother with the final Lapras because generally it ends up being around the same point wise and it's a lot harder to get to appear without wasting a large amount of time. This is the first time I tried my newer method so I mixed up when I should've tracked Kangaskhan and Eevee. Overall it was a really good Beach run, only Butterfree was below average. 17k points is the cutoff for this level, and 17,300 is the "safe" zone I shoot for. Getting 17,900 almost never happens. Pikachu was skipped because it's worth more in the Tunnel. Not sure what I could shave off time wise or add more points without losing time, but I'm still looking. It is pretty hard since a lot of this game is menu optimization and the VC likes to lag a little on menus (I think the N64 does also though).
