Education Cabinet Secretary Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba today attended the 58th Graduation Ceremony of Kenyatta University, where he reaffirmed the Government’s firm commitment to strengthening higher education, improving staff welfare, and aligning learning outcomes with Kenya’s digital transformation agenda. Addressing the congregation, the Cabinet Secretary confirmed that the Government has paid the first instalment of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for university lecturers, noting that this milestone underscores the administration’s resolve to honour agreements and promote industrial harmony in public universities. He further assured academic staff and stakeholders that the Government is committed to clearing the next tranche of the CBA through the 2026 national budget. The Cabinet Secretary also announced that the selection of students into universities and colleges would be released by noon today, following the official announcement of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results. He emphasized that the timely release of placements reflects the Ministry’s dedication to efficiency, transparency, and smooth transition for learners into the next level of education. Congratulating the graduands on their achievement, Hon. Ogamba challenged them to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during their studies to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and national development. He urged the graduates to position themselves at the forefront of the Government’s digital transformation agenda by embracing technology, creativity, and lifelong learning.
