#DelhiPolice #CBIRaid #CorruptionExposed #BreakingNews #DelhiCrime Corruption within the Delhi Police has once again raised serious concerns, as cases of bribery continue to surface. The latest incident comes from Paschim Vihar West Police Station in the Outer District, where the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid on the night of April 3, 2026, and caught a Sub-Inspector red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. According to the CBI, the case is linked to a dispute that took place on March 26, 2026, in which an attempt to culpable homicide case was registered. The accused Sub-Inspector allegedly demanded a bribe from the complainant in exchange for influencing the investigation and providing relief to the accused. Initially, he demanded ₹5 lakh, but after negotiations, the deal was settled at ₹3 lakh. As part of the deal, the first installment of ₹1 lakh was to be paid. The complainant approached the CBI and filed a formal complaint. Following this, the agency monitored conversations between both parties for several days to gather evidence. On April 3, the CBI laid a trap at Paschim Vihar West Police Station. As soon as the Sub-Inspector accepted the first installment of ₹1 lakh, he was immediately arrested on the spot. Following the arrest, Delhi Police took swift departmental action and suspended the accused Sub-Inspector with immediate effect. Sources indicate that a departmental inquiry has been initiated, and dismissal proceedings may soon follow. However, officials have remained silent on whether any action will be taken against the Station House Officer (SHO) in this case. This is not an isolated incident. Within the last 20 days, this marks the second major CBI raid in the Outer District. Earlier, two police personnel from Sultanpuri Police Station were also arrested while accepting bribes. In that case, strict action was taken, and the SHO was sent to line duty. These repeated incidents highlight the deep-rooted issue of corruption within certain sections of the Delhi Police. According to CBI data, more than 20 police personnel have been arrested for bribery so far in 2026. This rising number is alarming and indicates that those entrusted with upholding the law are themselves violating it. Experts believe that such cases significantly erode public trust in the police system. When citizens approach the police for justice but are instead met with demands for bribes, it raises serious questions about the credibility of the entire system. The continuous action by the CBI suggests a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption. However, the larger question remains whether raids and arrests alone can solve the problem, or if deeper structural reforms within the police system are required. For now, the Paschim Vihar West Police Station case stands as yet another blot on the functioning of the Delhi Police, underscoring that the fight against corruption is far from over.
