SOUNDBITE (English) Uzi Landau, Minister of Internal Security: "The most important thing on our part is of course to go after terrorists. From time to time you do pay a price. What is highly important however is just to continue and press upon them. And I wish that this again will bring to the attention of all the world leaders the fact that this engagement is interpreted by terrorists as a major advantage, a major win. It's an incentive to terror and we have to re-think and evaluate all of that. Thank you." 3. Landau walks away 4. Israeli cabinet meeting Tel Aviv, 4 July 2004 5. Various of security in front of United States embassy STORYLINE: Security was expected to top the agenda at Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday. The meeting came as Palestinian militants fired a barrage of rockets against Israeli targets Sunday, despite a broad operation in the northern Gaza Strip to prevent the attacks. No injuries were reported. Uzi Landau, the Minister of Internal Security, said Sharon's plan to withdraw Israeli settlements and a military presence from Gaza is being seized upon by terrorists determined to exploit the situation. The Israeli army said four rockets were fired toward the Israeli border town of Sderot and a Jewish settlement in Gaza. The rocket attack in Gaza occurred shortly before the Israeli Cabinet held its weekly meeting, where the latest violence in Gaza was on the agenda. And in the capital Tel Aviv, security was tight at the American embassy on the United States Independence day.
