Trudy Hayes, a woman who received kidney transplants from both her father and her mother, is urging people to consider organ donation. Once a busy hairdresser in her early 20s, Hayes's life shifted dramatically when severe headaches led to a diagnosis of organ failure in 2007. Her condition deteriorated to the point where she was vomiting from the pain, prompting her to return to Dublin where she was diagnosed with organ failure. Despite her positive attitude, she found it challenging to adapt to the long hours on dialysis. Enduring dialysis thrice weekly, she found hope through her father's kidney donation, though it was short-lived. Her body began rejecting the kidney after about a year, leaving her with feelings of guilt. Her mother then donated a kidney five years later after Hayes underwent further treatments and regained strength. This second transplant was successful, allowing her to return to her normal life.
