Shows how to draw free body diagrams for simple one dimensional motion. Free-body diagrams show the relative magnitude and direction of all forces acting upon an object. A free body diagram is a vector diagram. The relative size of the arrow in a free body diagram shows the magnitude (amount) of the force. The direction of the arrow shows the direction that the force is acting. Each arrow in the diagram should be labeled with the type of force. The object in the free body is often just represented as a square with the force arrows drawn starting from the center of the box moving outward in the direction of the force.
