Gorakhpur district administration in Uttar Pradesh is on Saturday carrying out a demolition drive at the residence of Mafia Vinod Upadhyay. Vinod Upadhyay is currently on the run and has a bounty of Rs 50,000. A non-bailable warrant has also been issued against Vinod Upadhyay in the gangster case and the police are actively searching for Vinod Upadhyay and his brother Sanjay Upadhyay. Vinod Upadhyay is also a history-sheeter with a total of 25 cases including extortion and attempt to murder registered against him. The police began probing the property owned by both the brothers. On May 23, another new case of extortion and threatening was registered against Vinod Upadhyay at Gulriha police station on the complaint of Praveen Kumar Srivastava, a resident of Daudpur.
