The International Space Station payload opportunity is provided by Voyager Space through its Space Act Agreement with NASA’s U.S. National Lab. --- ASTROBEAT In a groundbreaking approach, ASTROBEAT proposes for the first time the investigation of the cold-welding phenomenon - previously viewed as a detrimental structural issue - for use in spacecraft hull repair following a hypervelocity impact by space debris. ASTROBEAT is a compact and versatile experimental rig designed to fit within a 1U cube Nanolab. This miniature laboratory will be integrated into a rack on the ISS. ASTROBEAT is also pioneering a unique approach to public engagement by integrating art and science, utilizing music as a powerful language to transcend cultural barriers and reach diverse audiences beyond formal education systems. After the scientific experiment is performed, there will be two events, where new music compositions will be streamed from the ISS to Earth. Dr Leonardo Barilaro collaborated with Grammy-nominated cellist and composer Tina Guo and world-renowned producer Steve Mazzaro for the piece ‘Moon Seeds’, the soundtrack of the ASTROBEAT project.
