Hi there and welcome to our brand new channel, thank you for taking the time to come and say hello. We are based in the rolling hills of Northumberland in the NE of England. Please join us as we explore our local area, the rest of the UK, and further afield into Europe. Today we visited Vindolanda Museum and the Roman Fort on Hadrians wall. Built nearly 2000 years ago it repersents one of the most northern outposts of the Roman Empire. The Musuem documents the artefacts and daily life of the fort and village (or Vicus) that surrounded it. The wall was built to stop incursions and invasions from the Picts and Scots tribes to the north. So 2000 years ago Northumberland would have been a part of Caledonia to the north !!!!
