The new Coosa FD(Flex Drive) from Jackson Kayak is their first pedal driven kayak. The JK Flex Drive System offers forward and reverse operation and includes a unique articulating system for deep and shallow water navigation. A dagger-board protected 3-blade propeller combined with articulation (stump protection) gives the Flex Drive a performance increase over other drives and helps with keeping the system clear of obstacles and easy to clean. All that's fine and good but how does it perform in the real world. I took the Coosa FD out and was pleasantly surprised by the stability and handling of the kayak. With wind gusting over 30-mph I felt very comfortable navigating the rollers and white caps. Come along for the ride.
