Delius: By the River - The Florida Suite.

Frederick Delius 1862-1934 ..... 'By the River' is the second movement of his 'Florida Suite' - dated 1890. Inspired by the composer's experience running an orange plantation situated on the St Johns River. Its four parts (or movements) are described as - 'four tropical scenes for orchestra'. Some images on this video are of (or depict) scenes on the 'St John's River' and surrounding area where Delius had his 'Solano Grove' orange plantation. The movements are - Daybreak, By the River, Sunset, At Night, The English Northern Philharmonic Orchestra - David Lloyd Jones Note:- Enjoy the river, sunset and evening images on this video most but not all of which are my own work.
