The whole process took about 4 hours, with the first emergence taking about half an hour. The subsequent growing of the wings has been speeded up, as it took around an hour or more, then finally when everything was enlarged and dried out, the final spreading of the wings as they shimmer in the breeze is the sign that it will fly off to start its new life on the wing.
