''In 1918 Victor purchased the Trinity Baptist Church in Camden, New Jersey, a building at least 50 years old, with the intent of building a “recording laboratory”. In 1921 Victor hired the Estey Pipe Organ Company to the restoration and improvements of the old existing pipe organ, redesigning it for recording. Thomas ''Fats'' Waller recorded on the Victor newly-restored Estey at Camden from 1926 up to 1935, when the Camden studios were closed in late 1935. On Dec. 1, 1927 Waller recorded ''I Ain't Got Nobody'', a pipe organ solo in which he plays the melody with tenderness, but spices things up with witty dotted eighth/sixteenth note asides. He picks up the tempo for the second chorus and offers a rhythmic variation on the melody in lieu of an actual improvisation'', (from ''Fats Waller at the Pipe Organ'' – Historical Essays by Thomas Cunniffe at: https://jazzhistoryonline.com/fats-wa... ).
